Limelight High School Ministry

Limelight High School Ministry is designed to:

• Communicate God’s truths to high school students.
• Help them experience God on a personal level.
• Assist them in building authentic relationships with each other. 

Limelight meets every Wednesday and Saturday Night at 7pm. The Wednesday Night Party includes games, a snack bar, hilarious skits, and a short message in a fun and friendly environment.  During the Saturday Night Experience students will engage in amazing worship, a challenging message, and small groups, which play an important role in the spiritual growth of High School students. Limelight has several major events throughout the year including a summer mission trip, winter camp, summer camp, themed parties, and youth convention.

Cory Purvis - High School Youth Director

More than ten years ago Cory was invited to attend Canyon View by a friend at Serra High School in Tierrasanta.  That invitation changed his life, and over time God placed a desire in his heart to impact teenagers in the same way he was impacted.  After graduating from Serra High School, he went on to Biola University, graduating with a B.S in Organizational Leadership in the spring of 2007.  While in school, worked in the Canyon View student ministries, first as a volunteer and then as a part-time staff member.  He is married to Kim, and they are the proud parents of Skylar and Ashlynn.  Together, they want to invest in the lives of high school students in order to help them grow spiritually.
