Limelight High School Ministry

Limelight High School Ministry is designed to:

• Communicate God’s truths to high school students.
• Help them experience God on a personal level.
• Assist them in building authentic relationships with each other. 

Limelight meets Wednesday nights at 7 PM. The Wednesday night experience includes worship, a short message, and opportunities to get to know one another.  Small groups also play an important part of student ministry, helping students develop friendships and providing adult mentors for them.  Limelight has several major events throughout the year including a summer mission trip, winter and summer camps, parties, and youth convention.

Cory Purvis - High School Youth Director

More than ten years ago Cory was invited to attend Canyon View by a friend at Serra High School in Tierrasanta.  That invitation changed his life, and over time God placed a desire in his heart to impact teenagers in the same way he was impacted.  After graduating from Serra High School, he went on to Biola University, graduating with a B.S in Organizational Leadership in the spring of 2007.  While in school, worked in the Canyon View student ministries, first as a volunteer and then as a part-time staff member.  He is married to Kim, and they are the proud parents of Skylar and Ashlynn.  Together, they want to invest in the lives of high school students in order to help them grow spiritually.
