Pastor Darrel Larson
darrel@cvcf.com

Darrel grew up in Christian home in Oceanside, just to the north of San Diego.  A music scholarship took him to a Bible college in Lubbock, Texas. He began working in a local youth group and found he loved working with students and helping them discover God’s plan for their lives.

In 1983, Darrel married his lovely wife, Sheri, and in 1986, they settled in Phoenix, Arizona where he served as a youth pastor for eight years.  He returned to Southern California as the Country Director for Mexico at Amor Ministries, mobilizing 25,000 volunteers per year to build houses for the poor in Mexico.

Darrel began attending Canyon View in May 2002.  He started playing drums in the worship ministry.  He also began leading a small group and participating in Kindness Task Force events.   He joined the staff at Canyon View as the Outreach Pastor in 2006.

In the last year, Darrel’s job has expanded, and he has become the Pastor of Leadership Development.   His role is to work with leaders at Canyon View and help them develop their fullest potential in ministry so that they can equip the church for acts of service as described in Ephesians 4.  Darrel currently works with the directors of Outreach, Connections, Middle School and High School ministries.

Darrel is the North Campus pastor.

Darrel and Sheri have a daughter and a son-in-law who attend Canyon View.
